WMTAtourist awards Silver

Penny black cottage has been awarded a silver at the West Midlands Tourism Awards 2020.

The awards ceremony came on possibly the worst night of the flooding in Ironbridge, when the flood barriers shifted, prompting an emergency evacuation for the properties on the wharfage.

Our friends at Ironbridgeview Townhouse were also recognised at the awards, although they were affected by the evacuation order.

The river levels have thankfully now dropped, but flood warnings remain in place

Penny Black, being up the hill in coalbrookdale,  has not been affected by the flooding. We hope that recognition of ourselves, Ironbridge View Townhouse and the Coracle Micropub show what a fantastic place Ironbridge is to visit, and as the waters recede tourism will return and flourish
